Lenovo Thinkpad T430 “Classic” 7 Row Keyboard Installation / Mod

Today I am finally going to replace the awful chiclet / island style keyboard on my Lenovo Thinkpad T430 with a more traditional 7-row row keyboard from the Lenovo T420. Along the way I discovered the easiest way to install the 7-row keyboard into the T430 which required absolutely no modifications to the keyboard or palmrest. It turns out that this was a very easy modification and, if done right, should only take 15 – 20 mins to complete.

  1. I am having issues with flashing the BIOS…even though I did it exactly like the instructions tell me, and the Lenovo DOS program appears to work and everything, I am still left with the T430 layout. Help!!!!
