Reviving my First Computer: The Gateway MT6458 Laptop

VIDEO

DESCRIPTION

Today I pulled my Gateway MT6458 laptop out of the depths of my closet to see if it still works and is still usable today in 2018. My family purchased this laptop in 2007 to replace a Toshiba Satellite 1605CDS which previously served as our household computer. The MT6458 was equipped with a Turion 64 X2 @1.6Ghz, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB HDD, Radeon Xpress 1150 graphics, and a 1280 x 800 WXGA screen out of the factory. In this video I added 4GB of RAM into the system to prep it for Windows 10 and I also attempted to install a 64GB Msata SSD but that did not go as planned.
