THE RASPBERRY PI 3 IS NOW SHIPPING WITH THE PI-TOPCEED!
Integrated bluetooth, built in WIFI, and a 64-bit ARM V8 Cortex A53 quad core processor (1.2GHZ) are just a few upgrades coming to the Raspberry PI 3 model B. I am ecstatic to announce that I will be receiving and reviewing the PI 3 sometime in April! The Pi-topCEED Indiegogo campaign sent me an update email this morning informing supporters that the new model will now ship with the CEED.
On top of these upgrades the PI 3 will also boast additional GPU power making it more practical as a daily use machine. One thing that I really wanted to see in the next generation PI was more RAM but the new version will still only ship with 1GB. The new board will keep all of the I/O ports that the PI 2 had and will also retain the same dimensions as the old board.
If you have been thinking about buying a PI 2 then I suggest you keep your eye on distributors for the next few weeks. Prices of the old model should drop drastically and I suspect there will be a flood of dirt cheap PI 2’s on Ebay as users cycle them out for the new boards.
The people at PI-Top already have short video showing off the new hardware:
Stay tuned for my full review in April and if you already have your hands on the PI 3 I would love to hear your opinion of it!
